Library Hours

The library is available for use from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.  For one-on-one professional assistance with research requests, an appointment may be made by e-mail librarian@kingston-edu.org or contacting the school administration office.

Arrangement of Library Materials

Business, ESL, Medical books, and General Eduction books are shelved separately. All books are cataloged according to Library Congress (LC) classification and are identified by a label on the spine of the book. The call number is used to shelve books on similar subjects together. They are arranged alphabetically, then numerically.

Borrowing Library Materials

A valid student ID is required to check out books, periodicals and other study aids. Books may be checked out for two weeks, and renewed for an additional two weeks. A maximum of four books may be checked out at one time. To check out library materials, please see the library staff or school administrator.

Reserve Materials / Classroom Texts

Current classroom texts are designated with a Reserve label on the spine of the book. These books are restricted to “Library Use Only” for two hours. This period may be extended, only with the instructor’s permission.

Reference Books

Titles designated with a “Reference” label, periodicals and college catalogs may not be checked out, and are available for library use only.

Overdue Materials

Students are responsible for the safety, proper use and return of all library materials they check out. No other materials may be checked out until overdue materials are returned. Students with overdue materials will be unable to request transcripts, register for additional courses or obtain other official documents from the university. A replacement cost for lost or damaged materials, plus a $10.00 processing fee per item will be charged.

Printing and Photocopies

Computer printing and Photocopies are available on request. The fee is 10¢ per copy.
